Eclipse - Who are you and the rest of your group ?  


Elemental - Nick: Elemental Group: Night 55 Media Arts Real Name: Jonathan Nel Winner of Optimise 
            97 Multichannel Compo 



Eclipse - When and how did you start tracking ?  


Elemental - Hrmm..I started all the way back in 1992 on good old Modedit, listening to all the 
            great old MODS and wanting to be like them I suppose...it was just weird for me to 
            hear music that people i could meet made on a computer. 
 


Eclipse - What equipment do you use for making music ?  


Elemental - I have a pentium pro 200, I use a Gravis Ultrasound Max 1mb or my Sound Blaster Awe 
            64, I have a few friends with synths, but I have none of my own, I do however have a 
            bit of musical background having played guitar, violin and piano. 
 


Eclipse - Are you and your group entering Optimise 98 ?  


Elemental - I will probably enter the music compo's, just out of tradition I suppose, and I wish 
            this goddamn SA scene would stop isolating themselves, download other peoples music for
            crying out loud! 



Eclipse - What in the SA demoscene do you want to see improved ?  


Elemental - This scene is beyond help if you ask me, after Dexterity 96 i think it was, i had hope,
            but now its all gone, I hvent been on an SA IRC server for ages, noone from here ever 
            emails me and vice-versa, I know noone here, it disappointing, but I feel even these 
            compos dont stimulate enough activity, what help is 2 megademos as a compo? 



Eclipse - What is your current favorite demo or music ?  


Elemental - I havent downloaded a demo for ages, but my fav song is called " Working in Progress"
            by Mickrip, real music, I suppose Lighthouse Family's " High" 



Eclipse - What was your first computer ?  


Elemental - IBM 4.65Mhz TURBO, CGA 512kb 



Eclipse - What was the first mod that you listened too ?  


Elemental - Cant remember, but i know in the first batch i downloaded was a baroque tune and aqua.
            mod by foxx :) Ruled i tell you. 



Eclipse - Do you have any current projects you'd like to mention ?  


Elemental - Well yes we do! If you dont know who Night 55 is, well we have a web page, www.night55.com, 
            go take a look its grand. Its an international music group, with only 8 members: 
            Scirocco,ParticleX,Rage,Loonie,Xerxes,pV,Stein and me! We are busy coding a revolutionary

Eclipse - What are your plans for the future ?  


Elemental - Bollocks, I am a second year law student, so i guess i better start studying eh?
