ELSA Launches 3D Website Developed with InterSpaceTM
from NTT Software at Fall Internet World ‘97
Virtual World on the Internet to provide users product
information and real-time interaction in 3D
SANTA CLARA, CA – December 10, 1997—ELSA today announced its new 3D
interactive website at Fall Internet World ‘97. Utilizing the InterSpace
technology of NTT Software, this site enables users to wander through rooms
and explore the ELSA product line in a fully 3D environment. Audio and
video interaction with other users is an additional key feature of the
website made possible by NTT’s InterSpace. With intensive graphics, the
site is best viewed with ELSA’s line of 2D & 3D graphics accelerators.
Visit NTT’s booth #1288 at Internet World for a live demo.
InterSpace is a multi-user virtual reality environment that allows people
to communicate with one another within shared 3D virtual worlds.
Using avatars, it captures the user’s own voice and facial expressions
with real-time audio and video over the Internet. InterSpace VR
applications can now be accessed using a 28.8 Kbps modem, representing a
major bandwidth breakthrough for VR technology. InterSpace VR is bundled
with ELSA WINNER 2000/Office, the perfect solution for home and office
users with intensive graphics requirements.
"Our website promises to be an exciting experience for our customers.
The InterSpace technology has given us the capability to go beyond straight
text enhanced with 2D graphics into a world that offers stunning 3D graphics
and real-time interaction," stated Thomas Neubert, vice president of sales
and marketing for ELSA Inc. "Our customers can only benefit from this fresh
new look at our outstanding products."
"We’re excited to bring a new VR dimension to ELSA’s website that
engages customers with a whole new interactive experience," says
Mike Bartzel, marketing and sales manager of NTT SOFT. "We believe
ELSA’s website will prove how virtual reality isn’t just fun and games,
it’s making doing business easier, too," he added.
