GLoria-XL™: ELSA Raises the Standard in 3D Acceleration

ELSA GLoria-XL is a high-end graphics accelerator for professional visualization and 3D CAD

SANTA CLARA, CA - August 18, 1997- ELSA today announced GLoria-XL, the most powerful graphics accelerator yet based on the 3Dlabs GLINT MX chip and GLINT Delta processor. The GLoria-XL provides top of the line 3D performance for all applications - MCAD, VR, animation and simulation. The high-performance 3D capabilities meet the needs of workstation power users. Animators will find true-color at ultra-high resolutions as well as high-end texture mapping capabilities. There are also expansive texture memory benefits for visualization and simulation professionals. The GLoria-XL supports full trilinear MIP mapping in hardware and provides very realistic graphics in real-time.

ELSA GLoria-XL comes equipped with 16MB VRAM and 24MB DRAM (upgradable to 40MB DRAM). 16MB of VRAM allows for high-resolution true color 3D graphics for the most demanding user, and the 40MB DRAM allows texture-hungry applications to run full-speed at any time. Users can take advantage of superior quality graphics acceleration with the GLoria-XL's unique 48-bit-memory architecture. Ergonomic refresh rates and high resolutions are a reality with 250 MHz RAMDAC.

"GLoria-XL is the board for any professional user seeking superb performance in 3D, animation and visualization. GLoria-XL offers 3D performance in true color with highest resolutions. This board is the answer for power-users of Softimage, 3D Studio MAX, Sense8, Pro Engineer, I-DEAS, and MicroStation," says Thomas Neubert, VP/general manager of ELSA Inc.
