April 28, 1998 -- ELSA today announced that the ELSA GLoria Synergy will be integrated in
the newest version of the HP Kayak XW PC Workstations.
HP Kayak XW PC Workstations are high-performance PCs optimized for Microsoft®
Windows NT®. With the ELSA GLoria Synergy, these machines offer an extremely
cost-effective price/performance solution, providing outstanding graphics performance for professional 2D CAD
and 3D visualization applications. These include solutions from Autodesk®,
Kinetix®, Bentley, PTC, SDRC, EDS Unigraphics and SolidWorks.
The ELSA GLoria Synergy is equipped with an AGP bus, the PERMEDIA 2 processor
from 3Dlabs®, and 8 MB SGRAM. The 230-MHz pixel clock powers this board to resolutions of 1920 x 1200 in HighColor.
It can be operated in multi-screen mode and supports 16:10 wide-screen monitors. The ELSA GLoria Synergy
provides bilinear texture mapping in hardware and hardware accelerated OpenGL®,
HEIDI and Direct3D. To date, the GLoria Synergy has won seven
international awards, recommendations and citations in Germany, Great Britain, the USA and Taiwan.
With the Kayak XW PC workstations, HP customers can benefit from the ELSA Software Advantage for Autodesk and
Kinetix applications. The new drivers, ELSA POWERdraft for hardware acceleration of AutoCAD®
R13 and R14 as well as ELSA MAXtreme for 3D Studio MAX 2.0, further boost the already excellent graphics
performance with these CAD and visualization applications.
The new HP Kayak XW PC Workstation featuring ELSA GLoria Synergy graphics, a 333 MHz Pentium II processor,
64MB SDRAM and 4.5GB/10,000rpm hard disk is available, with an estimated US street price of $3,655.
