New Horizons for Professionals: Natural Flat Technology with ELSA ECOMO Monitors

Aachen, March 1999 - The very latest technology for the best possible display quality: These are the trade marks of the 19" and 22" monitors featuring Natural Flat technology presented by ELSA at this year's CeBIT. The new generation of ELSA monitors was developed with the needs of sophisticated users with uncompromising demands of display quality and ergonomics.

The future looks flat for the PC's most important output device. The relationship is simple: The flatter the screen, the more exact and natural the image on display. The result: An excellent image which looks a treat and is easy on the eye.

ELSA is applying the innovative Natural Flat technology to set new standards in the high-end monitor segment. ELSA ECOMO monitors in the 19" and 22" are already equipped with CRTs featuring an absolutely planar screen surface. The advantages over conventional CRT technology are clear. The flat screen surface prevents optical distortion. An advantage is the wide horizontal viewing angle as even the outer corners of the display are 100% free of any distortion. The absolutely planar surface also gives rise to 50% less reflection of ambient light sources in comparison to conventional CRT technology.

Natural Flat monitors are especially suited where accuracy of detail, linearity and picture geometry are called for. This is most true for professional applications such as in construction, image and document processing.

A maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and a horizontal frequency of 95 kHz provide an excellent display quality with the ECOMO 19H99. The highest resolution with the ECOMO 22H99 is 1800 x 1440 pixels. A horizontal frequency of 121 kHz allows fully ergonomic and flicker-free display refresh rates even at resolutions as high as 1600 x 1200 pixels. The ECOMO 22H99 also comes with a TCO '99 certification which guarantees not only ergonomic aspects but also ecological issues such as the environmentally-friendly manufacture and cost-free disposal of the monitor.

ELSA monitors also combat that cable spaghetti with the practical USB ports for connecting further peripherals. The mouse, the keyboard, the ELSA MicroLink USB modem or ISDN USB modem and other devices can be connected directly to the monitor.

A three-year warranty which covers the CRT is just one element of the ELSA ServiceDirect program which provides a free onsite service throughout Europe.

The new flat screen models will be on display at CeBIT, along with other highlights from the ELSA ECOMO range, such as the 18" TFT display. The Natural Flat models will be shipping after CeBIT 99.
