that Compaq Corporation will expand its offering of the advanced
AGP version of the internationally award-winning
ELSA GLoria Synergy
as the graphics solution in the new Compaq Professional
Workstation AP200. ELSA GLoria Synergy provides high-performance
2D and 3D graphics acceleration and multiple monitor support in
Windows NT® 3.51 and 4.0. The Compaq Professional
Workstation with the ELSA GLoria Synergy is targeted at
mainstream CAD/CAE, A/E/C, digital content creation (DCC), electronic
design automation, geographic information systems (GIS) and, because
of its comprehensive multi-screen support, the financial markets.
ELSA GLoria Synergy is an integrated 2D and 3D AGP graphics controller with 8 MB of SGRAM, a 250-MHz RAMDAC for resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 pixels in HighColor, and a 90-MHz chip clock speed for superior performance. Equipped with the PERMEDIA 2 processor from 3Dlabs, the product also allows multi-screen operations with the ELSA GLoria Synergy range of products. ELSA GLoria Synergy is certified for leading professional applications with support for OpenGL®, Direct3D and HEIDI in hardware. It also supports Windows® 95, Windows® 98, and Windows NT® 3.51 and 4.0.
The ELSA Software Advantage provides Compaq Professional Workstations products with the performance and productivity advantage for AutoCAD®, 3D Studio MAX/VIZ, OpenGL, and financial applications. ELSA's OpenGL technology with anti-aliasing support achieves a CDRS-03 performance of 32.3. In addition, ELSA POWERdraft™ is the only driver worldwide delivering hardware acceleration for both AutoCAD R13 and R14. The OpenGL-based 3D viewer ELSAview 3D™ enables 3D models to be displayed and altered in real time. Also unique is the driver ELSA MAXtreme™ which was especially developed for 3D Studio MAX/VIZ R2x and offers users a real boost in productivity. The GLoria Settings, a component of the ELSA WINman Suite, are a convenient way of optimizing the graphics performance of professional 3D applications.
The special new multi-monitor functionality within the ELSA WINman Suite enables Windows users to fully customize the configuration of their desktop and so provides users with the flexibility and functionality for financial analysis, CAD and image processing. This includes the selection and arrangement of the monitors by drag&drop, the selection of resolution and refresh rate for each monitor individually, and the support of "virtual screens” for adjusting to various screen diagonals. Hotkeys are a benefit to user-friendliness and also increase the productivity in multi-screen operation.
