Aachen, March 13, 1997
Aachen, Germany - In addition to the ECOMO 17H97, the 17" monitor with DiamondtronTM technology for the office professional and the ECOMO 20H97, the all-round monitor for the 20" high-end CAD sector, which will be launched at this year's CeBIT, ELSA will introduce the ECOMO D-150/TFT, ELSA's first digital ECOMO flat screen monitor.
ELSA's latest addition to its range of monitors embraces a new piece of state-of-the-art technology, which sets new standards concerning display quality and ergonomics: the company's first fully digital LCD monitor with TFT active matrix display. This monitor supports resolutions up to 1024 x 768 pixels with 262,144 colors, and is thus ideal for any application which, until now, made use of the classical 17" cathode-ray-tube monitor. Significant advantages offered by the new monitor are the extremely small footprint, the low power consumption and the extremely low electromagnetic emissions. However, the user will be most impressed by the stunning advance that comes with the fully digital operation. This feature opens new dimensions in display quality simply not available with conventional LCD monitors based on analog signal display. The ELSA LCD monitor package will include a new digital ELSA graphics board, equipped with 4 MB EDO-RAM, which is essential in guaranteeing the highest display quality.
With the ECOMO 20H97, ELSA continues the push into the 20" high-end CAD sector and once again presents a technological superlative in Trinitron quality. The ECOMO 20H97 is ELSA's first 20" monitor meeting the standards set by the TCO'95 and so sets new standards in environmental friendliness and ergonomics. In satisfying the TCO'95 standards, the monitor also meets all of the requirements of the EU directive 90/270/EEC for computer workplaces, which ensures that this monitor promotes the optimal conditions for non-tiring, stress-free drafting and construction. With a super-fine mask pitch of 0.25 mm, the monitor is capable of displaying the most complex drawing with a sharpness of focus which is astounding. The integrated dynamic focus ensures that the image reproduction is razor sharp, even at the outer picture corners. With picture refresh rates of up to 90 Hz at resolutions of 1280 x 1024 pixels, screen flicker is a thing of the past.
The ELSA ECOMO 17H97 with the super-fine 0.25 mm mask pitch 17" Diamondtron CRT unites all of the performance characteristics important for professional office work: a purity-control function and a separate rotation function for the precise color adjustment, the possibility to choose the color temperature between 5000 and 9300 Kelvin, a quickly comprehensible on-screen display (OSD) menu for controlling the multitude of settings and full plug&play support for optimal operation. The ELSA ECOMO 17H97 was developed to meet the demands of the TCO'95 seal of approval, and so meets all of the stringent demands set by the EU directive 90/270/EEC for computer workplaces.
The ECOMO 24H96, the first 24" monitor world-wide, displays an area larger than two full A4 pages in original size. With its 16:10 aspect ratio, this monitor is superbly suited to the full presentation of complex drawings.
