March 4, 1998—The ELSA VICTORY Erazor, the acclaimed champion of powerful entertainment
boards, will be presented at the CeBIT '98 with further extensions to the already impressive video functionality.
Like most mainstream boards, ELSA equipped the Erazor with videoin/videoout from the start.
Even now, every owner of an ELSA VICTORY Erazor can use the supplied cable pack to put their favorite games onto the TV screen and so experience their favorite game in a new dimension.
A video-in connector lets you connect up a video camera, for example. This and the supplied NetMeeting software let you take part in lowcost videoconferencing or even live video chat. You'd have to pluck a little courage for this, as the Erazor makes a faceto-face experience of the normally impersonal chat. With the help of the supplied MainActor software and a connected VCR, you can record, edit, and archive your own videos.
So that videos can be recorded without swallowing up your entire hard disk space, ELSA has developed the ELSA QuickCodec™. This unique and extremely sensible ELSA tool compresses video in real time and so reduces the storage space required by six times. This means that overflowing hard drives are a thing of the past.
Also brand new is the videotext decoder for the ELSA VICTORY Erazor. When connected with a video signal carrying teletext or videotext information (e.g. from a TV tuner or video recorder), the decoder takes just a few seconds to read every (!) page available and puts them on display. In this way you can collect information on any subject you require, be it financial, entertainment, or sport, and have it immediately available on your PC.
The videotext decoder is activated with the ELSA VideoView program, an additional and highly convenient tool which can display any of the video sources attached to the VICTORY Erazor on the monitor.
It is possible to watch videos free of any intrusive window frames, just as it is possible to connect your Playstation to the PC monitor and enjoy flickerfree games fun.
