a new high-performance graphics board for the AGP bus system.
The ELSA GLoria-XXL is the high-end graphics board in
the successful ELSA GLoria range. Professional users relying
on superlative performance for detailed animation, visualizations,
3D CAD modeling and virtual reality simulations need look no further
than the ELSA GLoria-XXL.
Equipped with a fast AGP bus and the latest chip set from 3Dlabs, the ELSA GLoria-XXL is setting new performance standards while maintaining full compatibility with the latest developments in PC-workstations. This GLoria features a 16-MB VRAM and an enormous 24-MB DRAM local buffer. This local buffer can be further expanded to a colossal 40-MB DRAM.
The ELSA GLoria-XXL's 48-bit local buffer interface enables the simultaneous use of 3D features such as front and back buffer, Z-buffer, stencil, fast clear planes, and graphics ID - without any loss in performance. Additional 3D-hardware features include functions for geometry and lighting. Extremely high resolutions of up to 1920x1080 or 1600x1280 pixels are smoothly displayed in a majestic 3D TrueColor. 3D images can be viewed with stereoscopic shutter glasses thanks to the ELSA GLoria-XXL's VESA standard connector.
This level of equipment makes the ELSA GLoria-XXL supremely suited to all power-hungry and process-intensive applications, including DCC (Digital Content Creation). DCC is the computer-based production of professional visualizations and animations for the digital media branch. DCC software includes modeling, animation, and rendering systems capable of extreme depth and detail, so placing enormous performance demands on the computer's graphics board. This component is directly responsible for the speed with which creative ideas can be realized, and ultimately for the productivity which can be achieved.
Needless to say, the ELSA GLoria-XXL supports wide-screen monitors in 16:10 format, for example the ELSA ECOMO 24H96. This monitor features an extremely large display surface which allows, for example, the display of two full A4 pages in original size plus space left over for any tool bars.
