World-Wide First for OS/2 Desktops: Multiscreen Operation in High Resolution with up to 1920 x 1200 Pixels

ELSA WINNER 3000 graphics boards open up new ground for OS/2 applications

Aachen, Germany - A unique solution for IBM's OS/2 Warp 4 is now available from Europe's leading developer of graphics systems, ELSA. OS/2 can now be operated with a graphics display area covering two separate monitors. This is a world-wide first for the OS/2 operating system, and is available exclusively from the graphics specialists ELSA.

Connecting a second monitor is the easiest way to double the size of the OS/2 desktop. Those requiring this are OS/2 users working with several applications simultaneously and/or with complex image displays, such as with applications with intricate spreadsheets and accounting packages, for displaying complex surveillance procedures or in the design and development branches.

The configuration of an OS/2 multiscreen system requires the graphics boards ELSA WINNER 3000-M or -L together with ELSA ECOMO 17", 20", 21" or 24" monitors. OS/2 users already working with a WINNER 3000 board just require a second graphics board and the monitor to upgrade their PCs to dual-screen workstations.

WINNER 3000 graphics boards support flicker-free resolutions of up to 1600 x 1200 pixels and are even able to generate 16:10 timings (1920 x 1200 pixels) for the panoramic ELSA ECOMO 24H96 monitor. Thanks to ELSA technology, in the "extreme configuration" OS/2 users can even use a display area of two-times 1920 x 1200 pixels with 256 colors and an ergonomic 76 Hz refresh rate.

ELSA, known for their high-speed and highly reliable OS/2 drivers with EnDIVE and TrueColor functions, offers a software package with DOS and Windows seamless support. DOS and Windows emulations can be displayed in full-screen mode on one of the monitors. In OS/2 multiscreen mode, the same resolution, color depth and refresh rate will be displayed on all screens.
