Aachen, Germany – ELSA AG today announced POWERview 3D, a 3D viewer fully compatible with AutoCAD® R13 to effect enhanced graphics capabilities and performance.
POWERview 3D accelerates AutoCAD® productivity by allowing users to manipulate shaded 3D wireframe, surface and solid models in real time while simultaneously eliminating unnecessary regeneration of AutoCAD® views. POWERview 3D enables easier editing of 3D geometry by dynamically updating the rendered model in its own display window. As a fully integrated 3D viewer for AutoCAD® Release 13 as well as the Autodesk® Mechanical Desktop, POWERview 3D provides unparalleled ease-of-use for the AutoCAD® user.
POWERview 3D's transparent use in AutoCAD® dynamically updates its 3D image and 3D display list during editing. By integrating a movable, default light in the 3D scene or displaying AutoCAD®-defined lights, POWERview 3D enhances the capabilities available to Autodesk® Mechanical Desktop users as well as providing the lighting functionality required for specialty applications in the A/E/C field. In addition to the intuitive OpenInventor user-interface for rotating, panning and zooming, POWERview 3D provides compatibility with AutoCAD®-defined named views for easy AutoCAD® visualization. POWERview 3D's full-featured functionality also includes hardcopy output, bitmap output as well as output of VRML 1.0 models for Internet compatibility.
As a fully integrated 3D viewer for AutoCAD®, POWERview 3D supports both Windows® NT 3.51 and 4.0 as well as Windows® 95. Furthermore, POWERview 3D optimizes AutoCAD®'s graphics performance in combination with any ELSA GLoria 3D graphics accelerator.
POWERview 3D is 100% compatible with ELSA's POWERdraft for AutoCAD®, the fastest 2D display list driver for AutoCAD®.
