World Premier: ELSA GLoria™ Graphics Boards with Hardware Acceleration for AutoCAD® R14 and 3D Studio MAX 2.0

With new drivers and utilities, ELSA provides outstanding performance and more convenience for professional CAD and 3D applications

March 12, 1998 - ELSA AG of Aachen, Germany will be causing a sensation at CeBIT '98. As the only graphics board manufacturer worldwide, ELSA has successfully developed a special POWERdraft driver for hardware-accelerated AutoCAD R14 for professional CAD. According to the relevant benchmark tests, this new driver provides a performance leap of up to four-times the speed compared to standard AutoCAD R14.

Useful tools further ease your work with AutoCAD models and significantly increase the productivity potential of professional users. Navigate your way through CAD drawings and point-and-zoom with the Cockpit function. MultiView saves up to a hundred previous 2D and 3D views as icons which can be reactivated at a mouse click.

For 3D Studio MAX version 2.0, ELSA has developed the specialized driver ELSA MAXtreme, which achieves considerable performance gains in combination with ELSA GLoria graphics boards. Advantage in comparison with the standard drivers: The ELSA solution combines the positive characteristics of HEIDI and hardware-accelerated OpenGL®, providing the user with a well-balanced acceleration for all areas of use. Especially with large textures, the productivity gains of the driver guarantee fast and smooth drawing operations. The ELSA MAXtreme driver is also optimally suited to use with multiprocessor computers.

ELSAview 3D is an ingenious 3D viewer for studying 3D models in real time. It can be used with a multitude of CAD and animation applications and supports VRML and Open Inventor file formats. In comparison with its predecessor POWERview 3D, the new ELSAview 3D additionally provides an extended light sources editor, a new materials editor, dynamic clipping-planes editor, and improved navigation for model walk-throughs and fly-throughs.

ELSA is worldwide renowned among CAD and visualization professionals not only for its highly-acclaimed graphics hardware, but also for the ELSA Software Advantage. ELSA has been developing CAD drivers since 1986 and possesses a pool of experience which is of direct advantage to professional users in their specific fields. ELSA drivers and tools are available to ELSA customers free of charge and are standard components for every ELSA GLoria graphics board. ELSA drivers, for older boards as well as for the current models, are continually being updated and optimized. The latest drivers are available online and around the clock from the ELSA WWW site (http://www.elsa.com), and are regularly published on the ELSA WINNERware CDROM.
