ELSA GLoria Synergy™ in NLX Design Especially for Assemblers and Integrators

For tightly-packed computer housings, ELSA has a space-saving graphics solution which offers outstanding 2D/3D performance

March 11, 1998 - ELSA AG is one of the leading manufacturers of computer graphics and data communication products. In time for the CeBIT '98, ELSA will extend its portfolio with an NLX design edition of the ELSA GLoria Synergy.

"Technologically speaking, we're dealing with our tried-and-tested ELSA GLoria Synergy. What's new is the fact that we have further optimized the graphics board's form to meet the stiff specifications of the NLX standards ", says Thomas Hütte, Computer Graphics Product Manager.

The ELSA GLoria Synergy in NLX design has been developed especially for the assembler and integrator market. Via the AGP bus, the board can be connected either directly to, or to the riser board of, an NLX motherboard. The latter solution is particularly interesting for the future and greatly simplifies component installation. Furthermore, the extremely compact form is a promising solution for what is frequently a major problem in powerful desktop PCs and workstations: Limited space. For universal use, ELSA also offers the NLX version of GLoria Synergy with standard ATX brackets.

"With the NLX model of the ELSA GLoria Synergy, we are directly addressing the explicit wishes of our customers ", Hütte continues.

In view of the space considerations, the customer is receiving the best possible graphics performance for professional applications in 2D CAD and 3D visualization. Assemblers and integrators are thus presented with the successful and highly-acclaimed ELSA graphics accelerator for use with special NLX motherboards.

The ELSA GLoria Synergy in NLX design is extremely fast, offers hardware 3D acceleration with hardware texture mapping and ergonomic resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 pixels in HighColor. It is equipped with the latest generation PERMEDIA 2 processor, a 250-MHz RAMDAC, 4 MB of fast SGRAM which can be updgraded to 8 MB, and AGP bus.

The ELSA GLoria Synergy is optimized for Windows NT® 4.0, Windows® 95 and OS/2 Warp 4. The 3D standards OpenGL®, HEIDI and Direct3D are supported. The package includes special AutoCAD® drivers (ELSA POWERdraft for the unique acceleration of Release 14!), the ingenious 3D viewer ELSAview 3D and the new, rapid ELSA MAXtreme driver for 3D Studio MAX/VIZ 2.0.

As of April, the NLX model of the ELSA GLoria Synergy will be available from well-known distributors.
