for CeBIT '98, ELSA is extending the performance capabilities
of the ELSA WINNER 2000/Office graphics board. With the
latest video functions, modern PCs can be transformed into multimedia
machines. Capabilities formerly available only under Windows
95 can now be used under Windows NT as well. For the first time,
OS/2 Warp 4 users with the ELSA WINNER 2000/Office
now have video-in support. This allows video sequences to be
professionally integrated in OS/2 applications.
Software developed by ELSA supports all Video for Windows-based video capture programs and offers the real-time encoding and compression of videos. Space-saving storage without loss of video quality conserves hard disk capacity. Until now, a 320 x 240 pixel video recorded at 25 frames/second required around 3.7 MB of disk space per second. With ELSA's newly developed ELSA QuickCodec, this has been reduced to 0.8 MB/second. This makes longer recordings in better quality with the same hard-disk capacity possible.
ELSA VideoView automatically identifies and activates any video source with an active video signal. This tool simplifies the sometimes complicated management of video sources an thus offers a gain in user friendliness. VideoView enables a full-screen display free of any obstructive Windows elements, so that videos look as good as if viewed on a television.
Apart from the extended video features, the ELSA WINNER 2000/Office in PCI or AGP design provides excellent 2D performance for office applications. With ergonomic resolutions in life-like color, the ELSA WINNER 2000/Office has become the benchmark graphics board in the corporate desktop market.
The ELSA WINman Suite is a highly user-friendly and comprehensive collection of tools for adjusting any graphics setting on the PC--even without far-going computer expertise.
