Aachen, Germany – ELSA is the first manufacturer to implement Windows NT® 4.0 support into its ELSAvision video conferencing system. This represents, together with the Windows® 95 and 3.1x support, a further enhanced video conferencing system.
ELSAvision is a hardware-based video conferencing solution for transferring data, video images and voice via ISDN.
With the included ELSAvision answering machine system you can record a variety of greetings messages which can be played as a dedicated message for communicating personal information to a specific caller.
In addition to the option of a picture-in picture-presentation, showing your own picture inside the window of your remote station, you can now chose freely scalable video windows for your remote station and for your own picture, which may also be placed side by side.
Just as the Windows® 3.1x and Windows® 95 versions of ELSA-RVS-COM, which are also included, the software package for Windows NT® offers pre-configured components for the direct access to ISDN communications, with functions such as file transfer, EuroFileTransfer, fax and answering machine. You can send and receive faxes with up to 14,400 bps.
Besides the H.320 compatibility, ELSAvision now also supports the T.120 standard and provides full compatibility with the Intel ProShare Video System 200. With these features ELSAvision offers professional connectivity even for the conferencing functions whiteboarding, filetransfer and application-sharing.
The transfer of high resolution still pictures allows you and your communications partner to simultaneously study valuable objects or models in detail, or photographs which have not been scanned. Detailed still pictures (712 x 576 pixels or four times CIF resolution) can be sent to and saved at the remote station - a single mouse-click is all it takes.
As accomplishment for specialized applications, the ELSA product range now includes two cameras, which can be used alternatively or in addition to the communication camera which is included in the ELSAvision package. Whereas the document camera provides particular precision of details, the programmable motor camera, operated by remote control software is ideally suited for monitoring applications.
The complete ELSAvision system includes a combined ISDN/video board, an analog camera with integrated microphone, a headset, the application-sharing software ProShareTM Premier, the ISDN office communications software ELSA-RVS-COM for Windows NT® 4.0, Windows® 95 and Windows® 3.1x (for EuroFileTransfer, fax group 3, answering machine, etc.), the communications software Telix for Windows® Lite, an on-board MPEG decoder and comprehensive documentation.
