The "U" is an interface connection from the wall jack "ISDN" RJ45 .The S/T interface is a connection from the NT1 RJ11 to the ELSAvision 32 RJ11(If you dont have the cable available from ELSA you can use the normal telephone cable-it should work). There is an LED indicator in front of the NT1 box
1. Green for Power
2. S/T&U for your line status. If the red light is flashing, this means that the line is trying to handshake to the NT1, and once the red light is steady it means your line is active and ready to use.
3. U Loop Back= This is unimportant.
Things need to check before you run your ELSAvision 32.
1. Please check if the ELSAvision software is loaded.
2. Check your configuration in the Control Panel for your current ISDN protocol.
3. If you have two N1 ISDN lines, the configuration for that should be (a) ISDN number ex.1234567 (b) SPID number should be area code first +isdn number+SPID number ex.40812345670101
4. If you are using one number for your ISDN it is AT&T POINT-TO-POINT or AT&T POINT-TO-MULTIPOINT and your configuration should be like this: (a) ISDN number ex.1234567 (b) and your SPID number should be like this; 01123456701
If all that is set, you would be able to use your ELSAvision32 with out any problem. If you don't have cable available, we can send you one which is ready to use.
