How to install the multiscreen operation under Windows NT

For using multiscreen operation under Windows NT you'll need several identical graphics boards, one for each monitor.
You should begin with clean installation of Windows NT with NT's standard VGA driver in use!
Simply install the normal ELSA Windows NT driver, there is no special multiscreen driver available or necessary. After sucsessfull installation the system will start up with single screen in 640 x 480 in 256 colors. You may now increase the resolution using the resolution slider and choosing a resolution, which is twice as wide as a single screen. This is for twice 640 x 480 next to each other 1280 x 480, or, for twice 1024 x 768 it is 2048 x 768. You are able to choose the same resolution for both monitors only.
(Exception to this rules is the ELSA driver for ELSA GLoria Synergy and ELSA WINNER 2000/Office from version 5.34.00.324 on. This drivers allows same colordepth but different resolutions for the monitors).
You should now test the choosen resolution, this is the moment the second monitor gets a signal for the first time. Until this monitor warms up to show a picture the 15 seconds of testing may expire, but you should have been able to recognize the monitor to "wake up". If you immediately test again, you'll see the test screen cover both monitors.
If you accept the resolution now, you'll be prompted to restart the machine.
You should additionally install the ELSA DESKman, a tool to handle windows positioning - only in multiscreen mode. You'll find this tool on the ELSA WINNERware CD or in the fiels area of ELSA's homepage under ELSAware / tools for Windows NT.
