Windows 98: my computer hangs if I click on 'Settings' in 'Properties of Display'
Problem
If I click on 'Settings' in 'Properties of Display', my computer hangs with a black screen and white flashing cursor (upper left corner).
Reason
Probably there are still some remains of an earlier used graphics board present.

The Registry needs to be cleaned up of all graphics board entries - even the standard VGA driver. After a reboot of the computer, you can reinstall the ELSA driver for your graphics board.
