SolidWorks 98 supports stereo. You can download a free 'Plug-In' for SolidWorks 98 on the following webside:

Install Free StereoGraphics Plug-In for SolidWorks 98
First unzip the sw98plug.zip.
Select 'Run' from the Windows Start menu and browse to the 'Setup.exe' double click on 'Setup'exe' and after that press the button OK.
Welcome: click Next.
Information: read the information and press Next.
Choose 'Destination Location' choose the destination folder you want to install. After that click the button Next to continue.
Setup complete press Finish after reading the text.
Now the installation is complete and you can start SolidWorks.
The following steps explain you what you have to do in order to see stereo
Open any SolidWorks 'Part' or 'Assembly' document' It is important to wait for the document to completely finish loading before attempting to select any functions from the menu.
To turn on stereoscopic viewing mode select the 'View Stereoscopic Display' menu item 'You should now be able to view your 3D model stereoscopically.
You may be able to improve the stereoscopic image by modifying the field of view angle using 'View Modify' Perspective' values between 0,3 and 0,5 tend to work very well.
To turn off stereoscopic viewing mode just de-select the 'View Stereoscopic Display' menu item 'Stereoscopic mode will also be turned off if you go to 'View Stereoscopic Options' and set the 'Stereoscopic separation' to '0'.
Note that stereoscopic projections require perspective display mode. For this reason, the plug-in application will automatically convert non-empty.
Part or assembly document windows to perspective display mode whenever stereoscopic viewing is activated, and whenever you switch between display windows. However, there may be times, i.e. just after adding an object to a previously blank document, when you might need to manually switch to perspective mode using 'View Display Perspective' in order to view the scene stereoscopically.
