Exclamation mark in device manager when running multiscreen

Question
When using multiscreen under Windows 95, there always is an exclamation mark in the device manager with the second board.

Answer
That's right and it is correct!
As both boards use the same addresses, the operating system Windows 95 is not able to distinguish between them nor to use separate drivers for them. The boot order in the system uses the first recognized VGA device for booting and ignores any other identical device (like the second VGA). This is why Windows 95 itself is not able to access the second board.
Only the appropriate ELSA MULTIman driver for the graphics boards is able to distinguish between the two boards and offers the multi-screen option (spanning the desktop over two monitors). Windows 95 "sees" this driver running on the first board only and marks the second board with an exclamation mark in the device manager. This exclamation mark will stay and is no hint for any malfunction!
