ELSA Asia, Inc. secures our presence in one of the most important international procurement markets. From one of the leading locations for the electronics manufacturing industry, ELSA Asia, Inc. is making an important contribution towards the optimization of our component availability and production processes with intensive market research and by maintaining important supply relationships. We began with the expansion of sales and procurement in 1997, with high-end graphics systems as our primary target market.
A presence in the Japanese market, with its special economic and cultural conditions, is all but impossible to develop from Germany or Taiwan. We thus opened offices in Tokyo and Osaka in early 1998 to respond to the increasing demand for Windows NT-based workstations with high-end graphics accelerators in Japan. Our wide-ranging contacts to Japanese PC manufacturers and distributors are contributing to a further positive development of the Asian markets.
